This week I want to feature John Grisham's upcoming book The French Illusion. In this novel Grisham departs from his usual legal thriller genre and presents a suspenseful story about a honeymoon gone wrong.
The main characters are Paul and Chelsea Tanner. They have just celebrated their wedding but after arriving in Paris they are kidnapped while on a day trip to the French countryside. The search for clues soon stretches across borders, with the FBI, CIA, and French Intelligence trying to work together to put the pieces of the puzzle together. In an effort to find answers, a young lawyer is recruited to be the bait in an elaborate CIA operation.
It sounds like this is a spy thriller given the involvement of the international agencies. I am looking forward to reading it. The book will be published on September 30, 2026.
