Book Cover of the Month: August

I love the cover and inside illustrations of the new graphic novel by Megan Kearney. Corpse de Ballet was not only written by Kearney but also illustrated by her. Kearney drew the design elements of the book cover but the cover design was actually put together by Sunny Lee and Yan L. May. 

Kearney is a cartoonist based in Toronto with a background in animation. Corpse de Ballet is her first solo graphic novel. Sunny Lee is an Associate Art Diector with First Second, the publisher of the book. She earned an MFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. I could not locate any information on Yan L. May but I am presuming they also work at First Second.

 The color pallette of blues with white was utilized in both the book cover and the inside illustrations.
