Book Cover of the Month: September

This book cover is what attracted me to the Landing in Place graphic novel. You can tell by the imagery that it's a story about Muslim immigrants. I enjoy this type of book. Myra El Mir is the illustrator who designed the cover. 

I love the color pallette of teal, yellow, pink and blue. It’s striking against the teal background. I also like the informal fonts that were used for the title and author's name. 

Myra designs illustrations for picture books, comics and activist posters.  She was born in Batha, Lebanon and studied fine arts as well as gender studies. Myra co-founded Space 37, an artists' community house in Beirut.
